Leaves falling, time crawls,
We sit and watch the Poui,
Head home, go study.

In Jamaica there’s a saying that if you haven’t started studying for your exams by the time the Poui tree starts blooming, you’re not gonna do very well.ย It’s blooming season is from January to May, and for schools, the examination period is between May and June. So if the Poui starts blooming and you haven’t started studying you’re running out of time.
