*On Defrost*

I’m sorry for breaking you…
The clock stopped going toc.
We stared at the big orange sign,
signifying the distance to the edge.
I was hurt and so were you
but after the end, I pulled through.
Now I’m hearing the riddim again,
and you’re still ice cold.

  1. Oh what an ambiguous poem! I was originally thinking if it’s about actual defrosting, literally, but then I saw your comment that a breakup inspired your poem. I’m sorry about the negative experience – but it produced a wonderful poem! Thank you for sharing it 🙂

  2. A poem that holds a lot of surprises…

    I love it.
And I can identify myself with it so I am really grateful to have been reading. Thanks for sharing.
Let’s just hope you don’t take too long defrosting. The warmth is always welcoming and more comfortable.
