I had a performance this Emancipation day with L’Acadco at the Emancipation Park. It did shell! The L’Acadco Drum Xplosion represented 🙂 and I got my poetry book signed by Sheldon Shepherd, of No-Maddz, then I fan girled over their performance.
After my lunch date with Lexxi we went to Emancipation Park. The festivities had already started, with some Gospel music. The crowd had filled the large park, persons sat in the seats directly in front of the stage, while others stood behind them. Other patrons had picnic blankets scattered on the lawns of the park, simply listening to the performances. Parents sat watching their children playing, some eating ice cream, others, KFC.
The acts ranged from gospel singing, to dub poetry, to singers of any genre, to No-Maddz ❤ to Drumming, there were about 5 different drumming acts, us included. That was nice, there’s a whole lot of talent in Jamaica. When di drumming drop and the vibes reach inna the place, hehe! Bere dancing and gyrating backstage. After the drummers, a few reggae acts performed, no dancehall artistes unfortunately.
It was really fun, my Mom, Grandma & little sis came and supported, plus my friends, Lexxi, Denni & Klayon.
