It’s been a week & 3 days over a year since I’ve big chopped, so I’m taking the time to dedicate this post to my natural hair. I got it dyed in December, the title is the hint 🙂
Then I cut it all off two weeks later.
This was my hair during December, I had trimmed it to prepare it for the salon.
On the day, it wasn’t a very good experience, and I think I’ll stick to DIY when it comes to my hair because the salon experience was just expensive for nothing. I got there at 12:30 on the dot, my set appointment time and the hair dresser wasn’t there. Her colleague called her and she said she was nearby and if I wasn’t in a rush if I could wait. I was well excited to do my hair so I said yea, I’ll wait. My hairdresser asked her colleague to start my hair until she arrived, so she did but her client came so she had to stop. So I sat there waiting, not seeing any alarms, I was in no rush.
I must admit she didn’t take long to come, and she started my hair straight away. I showed her a picture of the colour I wanted and she started, her colleague had already parted it in the ‘half’ segment. I must admit at first I was overwhelmed by the end result but I’m Shida so it doesn’t show on the outside. What has annoyed me though, is that the perimeter of my forehead was bleached as well. This was the finished look:
I did my errands and went home, I rewashed my hair & did my protein deep conditioner. When my mom got home from work I showed her nervously and she liked it but she broke it to me that it looked like a third of my head was dyed blonde, and not half like I wanted. I made it work though. I styled it up and here it was.
My look wasn’t finished though, the back ‘half’ of my hair was too dark for my liking.
So before my birthday I made my mom bleach the dark side, to lighten it just a little.
You can see some new growth! hehe 🙂
Now I absolutely love it 🙂
