The Gleaner’s Restaurant Week is an annual event all the foodies await, including myself. This year I went to Fromage Gourmet Market & Bistro for dinner; with one of my best friends, Davia. It was a great experience, it was my first time there, and first impressions last; I will be back. We ate indoors rather than at their outdoor dining area. My only qualm was that it took over 30 minutes for our appetizers to arrive but the waiter explained that one of the items is baked, hence the long wait time; and it was mouth watering so all my irritation disappeared.
As I said though, I enjoyed the dining experience, the waiter was well mannered and pleasant. The food was delicious, I couldn’t even eat off my entrée, I had some of it bagged up to go.
Appetizer – By popular demand their Corned Pork Macaroni & Cheese was added to the Restaurant Week Menu, so Davia chose that as her appetizer. This was the reason it took so long for our appetizers to arrive, it was being baked. I need to go back just to have this, ah swear.
To be honest, that’s what I wanted but I ordered the Bruschetta, we would be tasting each other’s meals, (I had to eat out some of my best friend’s food lol) so we thought why not switch it up.
Entrée – Davia had the Lasagna Florentine.
I had the Crab Stuffed Chicken, it was really good, I could taste the crab in every bite, and the baked potato complimented it perfectly.
Dessert – We both had the Ice Cream Waffle Sundae for dessert, call me boring but one can never go wrong with vanilla ice cream, and when it was soaked into the waffle? Oh gosh man, it was yummy.
Fromage Gourmet Market & Bistro is in the “Savoury” category for Restaurant Week so the whole meal was $2,800JMD plus tax. I ordered a sprite as my drink so my total with tax was about $3,500JMD.
